Dedicated to Bangobandhu
Deb Kajal

A torchbearer came and threw down all debris faraway
Millions, millions of mind floated and sang a song with
Though, there was turmoil and had every teeth
But the torchbearer was undaunted and committed to sway.

Night after night remained awakened and never hugged sleep
Thoughts deepened even his breath
Misfortune drew endlessly as none was there to sheath
But he alone thrusted all and none stood against to clip.

Years of pain, years of confinement failed entirely to stoop
He cared none rather foiled their plan
And ruined all conspiracy even their clan
As a thunder-god made them bound to elope.

His fierce voice waggled the earth, so did the occupation force
Despite all cobweb, they retreated but left nothing
Their stink-mark gave birth hatred and let them not to cling.
Finding no better ways, fled like a wounded horse.

Ne-plus-ultra couldn’t curve him rather grasped all expanding heart
Betrayers feathered their nest and bit him back But couldn’t push him an inch,so surrendered their neck
As a solo savior eclipsed them and their indecent flirt.

The torchbearer made everything possible and robbed a land for all
Never dreamt for his own, even for his beloved He dreamt and dreamt only to make us freed
And eventually wrote a glorious history subduing a troll.
