» Bangabandhu’s 99th birth anniversary held in Tashkent

Glimpses from Bangabandhu’s 99th birth anniversary celebrations held in Tashkent today at Bangladesh Embassy with due solemnity and fervour in presence of NRBs, Uzbek dignitaries and children from SOS village, Orphanage, Technical School and Bengali Community.
At the beginning of the program, all children who attended the event were presented with specially designed T Shirts with Bangabandhu’s photo. A Floral Wreath was offered on behalf of Embassy Officials to the Portrait of Bangabandhu along with the NRBs.
Then address of welcome was delivered by Counsellor Nripendra Chandra Debnath followed by the screening of a documentary film on the life & contributions of the Greatest Bengali of all time Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Afterwards, one minutes silence was observed in memory of the Father of the Nation while everyone present was requested to pray for the salvation of Bangabandhu’s departed soul as per practice of his or her respective religion.
Ambassador Mosud Mannan ndc read out messages received from Hon’ble President Md. Abdul Hamid and Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina followed by Counsellor Nripendra Chandra Debnath who read messages from Hon’ble Foreign Minister Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.
A specially prepared power point presentation “Mujib – A Graphic Novel” was shared with the audience in Russian Language based on the “Unfinished Diary of Bangabandhu”.
This year students of Tashkent Technical School took part in the Photography Contest on the theme “World Peace”. Ambassador Mosud Mannan ndc distributed Certificates and Prizes to the winners of the competition. Children of the Bengali Community in Tashkent recited various pieces of poetry in their mother tongue Bangla.
In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Mannan paid rich tribute to Bangabandhu for his all round contributions and sacrifice towards achieving the independence of Bangladesh with the support & sacrifice of the Bengali People. He specially highlighted Bangabandhu’s love and care for children. He also thanked NRBs for their contributions towards Bangladesh’s current development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the eldest daughter of Bangabandhu who has recently been elected for the fourth time as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. He made a clarion call to all Bengalis and friends of Bangladesh around the globe to actively take part in next year’s 100th birth anniversary program of Bangabandhu.
Finally, birthday gifts were distributed to all the children present and a special cake was cut as part of the sumptuous evening Reception.
Under the guidance of Prof Dr Nuzhat Amin Mannan, Wife of Ambassador Mosud Mannan ndc, Social Secretary to Ambassador Miss Bargida Muminjanova, Receptionist Ms. Durdona Tursunova, Intern Aides to Ambassador Mr. Aziz and Miss Maftuna along with long time local staff member Mr. Fayzullah and home based Staff Mokhter Hossain were actively involved in making the event an all out success.
