A drug dealer named Emon Mia (22) was arrested with 225 pieces of yabas in a special operation of Moulvibazar District Intelligence Branch (DB).
He was arrested from Baur Bagh of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on Monday (May 22).
Based on secret information, a team of DB Police led by SI Iftekhar Islam conducted a raid in front of the house of one Sitar Mia in Baur Bagh area of No. 02 Manumukh Union of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon and arrested Emon Mia.
A total of 225 pcs pink YABA tablets in 02 blue zippered airtight polythene packets (105+120) were seized from his pant pocket after searching the body of Eamon who was arrested from the spot.
The arrested accused Imon Mia Moulvibazar is the son of deceased Abdul Malek of Brahmangram of Khalilpur Union No. 1 of Sadar Upazila.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Mr. Sudarshan Kumar Roy said, “Special operation of Moulvibazar district police is going on against drugs. The district police is determined to make Moulvibazar district drug free.”
Mr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Officer-in-charge of the District Intelligence Branch, said that Imon Mia and the absconding accused have been involved in drug trade for a long time. A case has been filed against them under Section 9(b)/41 of Table 36(1) of Narcotics Control Act 2018 at Moulvibazar Sadar Model Police Station
