A number of 34 more persons were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours in the district after testing 122 samples at Bhola 250-bed General Hospital COVID-19 laboratory.
The new positive cases, 18 are in Sadar upazila, three in Borhanuddin upazila, two in Daulatkhan upazila, six in Tajumuddin upazila and five in Charfashion upazila of the district, civil surgeon (acting) of the district Dr. Md. Sirajuddin, told BSS this afternoon.
Meanwhile, six patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the district.
The total number of infected people in the district stood at 2,181 while the number of recovery cases at 2,018, the civil surgeon said.
A total of 26 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he added.
Dr. Md. Sirajuddin said infected 20 persons are now undergoing treatment at Bhola 250-bed General Hospital, rest of the infected persons are now undergoing treatment at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.
The health expert of the district urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
He urged everyone to be more aware to prevent this lethal infection.
