Keeping in mind the theme of not panicking, but needing caution in the new form of Covid, the Lohagara Upazila Team under the Youth Red Crescent, Chittagong District Unit distributed leaflets and distributed masks to inform the general public about the symptoms of Covid omicron XBB variant.
This public awareness campaign was completed at the Lohagara Upazila Health Complex on Sunday (June 15).

Abdul Al Kayes, representative of the Youth Red Crescent Lohagara Upazila Team, said. The Covid Omicron XBB variant is currently considered a significant public health challenge. Although it is more contagious than previous variants, it causes relatively mild symptoms. However, due to its rapid spread, it can become dangerous for the elderly, people with weak immune systems and other vulnerable groups. Therefore, to prevent the XBB variant, it is necessary to follow hygiene rules, use masks. It is possible to prevent the spread of this variant only by taking personal and social precautions.
