BSF Hands Over Bodies of Three Bangladeshis Killed in Tripura”

India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has returned the bodies of three Bangladeshi nationals who were allegedly killed with arrows and sharp weapons in Tripura’s Khowai district. The handover took place on Thursday evening through a flag meeting at the Balla border in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj.
The victims were identified as Jewel Mia (32), son of Asbab Ali of Alinagar village; Pandit Mia (45), son of Kona Mia of Basulla village; and Sajal Mia (20), son of Abdul Kaddus Mia of Kabilashpur village— all residents of Chunarughat upazila.
According to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), local tribal villagers in Vidyabil area of Tripura attacked the three men on Wednesday night, killing them on the spot. It is suspected that the victims had crossed the border for cattle smuggling.
Indian police later recovered the bodies and, after autopsy, handed them over to BGB officials led by Abul Khayer, commander of the Balla Border Outpost.
Chunarughat UNO Md. Shafiqul Islam and OC Md. Zahidur Rahman were present during the handover.
OC Zahidur Rahman told Red Time “The bodies were handed over to us after post-mortem in India. After completing legal formalities, they will be returned to the victims’ families.”
