The government has appointed new Superintendents of Police (SPs) in six districts, issuing a fresh round of transfers and postings aimed at strengthening field-level law enforcement.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued the notification on Sunday, under the authority of the President. The order, signed by Deputy Secretary Abu Sayeed, states that the reshuffle has been made “in the public interest” and will take effect immediately.
According to the notification:Mohammad Sarwar Alam, SP of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), has been posted as the new SP of Gaibandha.
Md Marufat Hossain, SP of Dinajpur, has been transferred and appointed SP of Faridpur.
Md Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been assigned as the new SP of Dinajpur.
A N M Sajedur Rahman, SP of Habiganj, has been posted to Pabna as Superintendent of Police.
Goutam Kumar Biswas, Deputy Commissioner of DMP, has been appointed the new SP of Habiganj.
Mohammad Billal Hossain, another DMP Deputy Commissioner, has been transferred and posted as SP of Nilphamari.
Officials at the ministry said the reshuffle aims to make police operations more efficient and to reinforce security management at the district level. The newly appointed officers are expected to assume charge in their respective postings without delay.
