In a shocking incident in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, 48-year-old Laila Afroze and her 15-year-old daughter Nafisa Nowal were brutally murdered in their own home, with Laila suffering at least 30 stab wounds and Nafisa at least six, mostly to the neck and throat. Police have identified a part-time housemaid who had joined the household just four days ago as the prime suspect.

CCTV footage shows her entering the flat at 7:51 a.m. in a burqa and leaving at 9:36 a.m. in Nafisa’s school uniform. Nafisa’s father, an English-medium school teacher,  The building manager confirmed the maid had been sent to the family recently, and police are conducting multi-team operations to apprehend her while investigating if anyone else was involved.
