The air ambulance transporting Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Mancha and an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, has safely arrived in Singapore.
The aircraft landed at Seletar Airport at around 5:50pm Bangladesh time on Monday (December 15) following an approximately four-hour flight.
Earlier in the day, the specialised air ambulance flew from Singapore to Dhaka. Under close medical supervision, Hadi was transferred from Evercare Hospital to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by road ambulance in the early afternoon. Shortly before 1:30pm, the ambulance entered the airport through Gate No. 8, after which he was placed onboard the air ambulance for the overseas journey.
Accompanying Hadi to Singapore are his brother, Omar Bin Hadi, and close associate Aminul Hasan Faisal, who is also known as his long-time political ally.
According to sources, the decision to move Hadi abroad for advanced medical care was taken after a joint assessment of his condition by physicians at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka and Singapore General Hospital, who deemed the long-distance transfer medically feasible.
It may be recalled that Sharif Osman Hadi was shot on Friday (December 12) in the capital’s Paltan area. He was initially rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition before being shifted to Evercare Hospital following a family decision. He had remained in a critical state while undergoing treatment there prior to the transfer.
