Jamuna Vaishnavi, the spiritually devoted servitor of the revered Sri Sri Nrisimhadeb Akhra in the Kalighat area of Sylhet city, has passed away, leaving a profound sense of grief among devotees and well-wishers.
She breathed her last around 2:00pm on Monday at her daughter’s residence in the Shibbari area of South Surma. She was 67.
Born on March 5, 1959, Jamuna Vaishnavi lived a life marked by deep devotion, renunciation and unwavering spiritual commitment. Constantly engaged in the service of the Almighty, she dedicated herself entirely to religious duties and daily worship at the akhra. As its sole servitor, she became a symbol of humility, sacrifice and sacred discipline.
She is survived by her three daughters, relatives and a large number of devotees who held her in profound respect and affection.
