The Government has increased the prices of petrol, octane, diesel, and kerosene in Bangladesh. The new pricing was announced in a notice issued on Saturday by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
According to the revised decision, the new fuel prices will come into effect nationwide from Sunday (April 19).
Revised Fuel Prices (Per Litre):
Octane: BDT 140
Petrol: BDT 135
Diesel: BDT 115
Kerosene: BDT 130
Previously, octane was priced at BDT 120, petrol at BDT 116, diesel at BDT 100, and kerosene at BDT 112 per litre.
Under the new adjustment, octane price has increased by BDT 20, petrol by BDT 19, diesel by BDT 15, and kerosene by BDT 18.

The price hike is expected to have a ripple effect on transport costs and the overall supply chain of essential goods, industry observers said.
The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources stated that the adjustment was made considering fluctuations in the international energy market.
