Two armed terrorists arrested with foreign pistols and bullets

RAB-6 has arrested two armed terrorists with foreign pistols and bullets in a special operation in Khulna's Luanchara police station area. They were arrested from Harintana area on Friday (July 10) afternoon.

The detainees were identified as Md Shukkur Hawlader, 35, of Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur, and Md Imran Khan, 37, a resident of Harintana under Labanchara Police Station.

In a press release, RAB-6 said a team conducted the operation in Harintana following a tip-off. During a search of Imran Khan's residence, the law enforcers recovered a foreign-made pistol, a magazine and five rounds of live ammunition.

The recovered firearm and ammunition were seized in the presence of witnesses, the release said.

According to RAB, preliminary investigations found that both detainees have criminal cases pending against them in different police stations. Shukkur Hawlader reportedly faces multiple cases in Bhandaria Police Station, while Imran Khan has several cases filed against him in Batiaghata Police Station.

A case has been filed under the Arms Act with Labanchara Police Station, RAB said, adding that the detainees, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
