39 students receive bicycles, 59 women sewing machines in Juri Upazila

A total of 39 students from ethnic minority communities received bicycles, while 59 disadvantaged women were given sewing machines and 208 students received educational stipends in Juri upazila of Moulvibazar District .
The assistance was distributed at a programme held at the Upazila Parishad conference room at 11am on Wednesday, August 12 .
The programme was organised under the government’s development assistance programme titled Development Assistance for Special Areas (excluding the Chattogram Hill Tracts),
implemented by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Juri Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Fazle Rabbani Chowdhury chaired the programme. Moulvibazar-1 lawmaker Nasir Uddin Ahmed Mithu attended as the chief guest and handed over sewing machines to disadvantaged women and
cheques to the students.
Among others, Upazila BNP President Masum Reza, General Secretary Matiur Rahman Chunu, Senior Vice-President and Goalbari Union Parishad Chairman Md Abdul Qayyum, Upazila Engineer Md Ahidul Islam and Project Implementation Officer Mizanur Rahman were present.
A total of Tk 7.80 lakh in educational stipends was distributed among 208 students, alongside the bicycles and sewing machines.
