Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon children to prepare themselves by excelling in science and research so that they can go to the moon in the future.
He said, ‘One day we will go to the moon. So you have to prepare in that way from now on.’
The Prime Minister addressed the students while inaugurating the ‘Bangabandhu Corner’ at Gimadanga Tungipara Model Government Primary School today.
He also unveiled the album titled ‘Eso Bangabandhu Jani’ drawn by children with special needs in this school, which was founded in 1912 and has memories of Bangabandhu.
Sheikh Hasina said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a special love for people from his childhood. People with no food, ragged clothes, no place to stay, these things made him very sad. That’s why he used to work for people since childhood. He did not see any happiness or benefits in his life. Only one thought was how to free the people of this country from poverty. His aim was how to give a better life and so that little children can have a better life.
The head of the government said, I think that the initiative taken here today or the children with special needs, making an album with their drawings or presenting the history through pictures – actually the pictures speak and through this the children are getting an opportunity to know the history.
He thanked all concerned including teachers, administration and public representatives for this initiative and said, ‘And my little Sonamani, prayers and blessings for you. You learn and grow up. Because you will be the smart citizens who will build the smart Bangladesh, who will run the country.
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Prime Minister, Minister like me will come out from among you, you will go to big places, do research, become scientists. And we will go to the moon someday, no worries. So everyone has to prepare and study like that from now on.’
Earlier, Prime Minister Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was welcomed by the students when he reached the school where he studied.
Sheikh Hasina interacted with the students and inquired about them.
He spent some time there and toured Bangabandhu Corner with the students. Where various books written on the nation are kept.
Later he visited Tungipara Multipurpose Municipal Super Market.
Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister paid respects at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara. He recited Fateha there and joined the prayer to pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the Father of the Nation and the martyrs of the 15th August 1975 massacre.
The Prime Minister arrived at his ancestral home on Friday afternoon after attending a civic reception organized to mark the completion of the Padma multi-purpose bridge at Mawa in Munshiganj.
