Today is the second death anniversary of Mamtaz Aksad Banu, founder Member of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad.
And founder member of Bangladesh Peace Council and life member of the Library science Alumni Society of Dhaka University.
She was wife of late Ali Aksad, President of Bangladesh Peace Council and a renowned asst editor of Ittefaq and Sangbad. Ali Aksad initiated the first international prize, Julio Curie medal to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman from World Peace Council.
Mamtaz Aksad Banu actively took part in various national movement and protest of the country. She was inclined with the then communist party of Bangladesh. She received the blessings of great leaders like of Comrade Moni Singh, comrade Salam and , comrade Anil Mukherjee.
Mamtaz Aksad Banu hails from Charu Babur More, Dinajpur town. Her mother was Tahura Begum Khuki and father was Captain T N Alam. She was the niece of comrade Mohammad Forhad, General Secretary of CPB.
She passed her matriculation from the Varateshwari Homes High School and BA pass degree from The Kumudini College in Tangail.
She obtained a diploma in Library science from Dhaka University.
She was a well read person, very amicable, fond of music and cooking. She supported her communist husband Ali Aksad intensely to continue his political career.
She left behind two daughters, one son and two loving grand sons Zarer Ibne Tarique Rohon and Tarique Abrar Rubab to mourn her death.
She died in cardiac arrest in BIRDEM on 4th August in 2016.
The well-wishers are requested to pray for the departed soul, requested by her daughters, says a press release.
