The intense heat persists in causing chaos nationwide, leading officials to shut down educational institutions until April 27. Earlier this month, the heatwave was initially categorized as “mild to moderate”. Some relief was experienced on April 7 and 8 as temperatures decreased in various regions following rainfall. It’s heartbreaking to see mango pulp and rice husks falling in the scorching heat, potentially disrupting all forms of farming, including vegetable crops. Moreover, the increasing number of children’s diseases in hospitals is truly concerning.

Despite the closure of educational institutions, it remains impractical for working individuals to halt their office commitments. Regardless of the circumstances, they are obligated to continue working diligently for their respective companies. People near Chasara Municipal Market were provided with oral saline and a bottle of water to alleviate the effects of the scorching sun.

Showkat Hashem Shaku spoke to Redtimes ”While I was away from my homeland for medical reasons, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the struggles faced by those enduring the intense heat. Today, my family decided to take the lead and provide much-needed relief by distributing bottles of mineral water and saline to those who are in dire need. This compassionate gesture will continue tomorrow at the 300-bed hospital in Narayanganj”.

One of the rickshaw puller near Chasara Municipal Market spoke to Redtimes “I was tired and becoming so weak, suddenly I was gifted with a bottle of water and saline which made me happy and strong. Thanks, councilor for the initiative.”
