The 3-day Agricultural Technology Fair 2025 was held at the BADC building. under the initiative of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Shayestaganj Upazila, from May 17 to 19 under the Sylhet Region Agricultural Development Project through modern technology. The fair was inaugurated by Agriculturist Md. Aktaruzzaman, Deputy Director, Department of Agricultural Extension, Habiganj, as the chief guest. Agriculturist Md. Mashiur Rahman, Upazila Agricultural Officer, Shayestaganj, delivered the welcome speech. The said program was presided over by Pallab Hom Das, Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
A total of 15 nurseries including Sabbir Nursery, Julie Nursery, Bismillah Nursery participated in the fair. A large crowd of visitors was observed at the fair. Today, on the last day of the fair, students from various schools and colleges participated. Md. Ali Haider Selim, senior teacher of Shayestaganj Girls’ High School, who came to see the fair, said, Bangladesh is an agricultural country, there are many empty spaces in our homes, if we want, we can contribute to maintaining the balance of the environment by planting trees there. I have come here to plant trees for all my students.
A college teacher from Habiganj said that I am coming to the fair with the desire to plant trees together to create a healthy environment for my students by planting trees as a responsibility towards the country. Student Mahmuda said that if we want, we can make the environment green by planting trees under whose shade we, our next generation, will grow.
Sub- assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Sanaullah Shanim said, at the fair, we can cultivate ginger in sacks and on the roof, in abandoned shady places in our homes, and how we can do that. It has been shown that we can meet the nutritional needs of all our families by cultivating 5 types of vegetables in 5 rows in the family nutrition garden, which is chemical-free.
Vegetable cultivation using the DB is demonstrated in waterlogged areas.
It is known that cultivating vegetables in low-lying land using the DB method yields higher yields and higher profits.In addition, various types of modern agricultural technology equipment and its use were displayed at the fair.
