Written Admission Test for Asian University for Women Held in Sreemangal for Tea Community Students

The written admission test for students of the tea community seeking admission to Asian University for Women was held at Victoria High School in Sreemangal upazila of Moulvibazar district on Friday.
The examination took place from 10:00am to 1:00pm with the participation of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) passed students from tea garden communities.
Located in Chattogram, the Asian University for Women is an international residential university dedicated to educating women from across Asia. Established in 2008, the university follows the American liberal arts education model. It offers higher education opportunities to talented and underprivileged female students from Bangladesh and several other Asian countries, with many students receiving full scholarships. Currently, students from around 23 countries are studying at the university.
Following the written test, a brief discussion session was held with the participating students.
Speaking at the event, the headmaster of the school, Ayon Chowdhury, encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies and work diligently to achieve their goals. He said dedication, discipline and hard work are essential for building a bright future.
Moulvibazar district correspondent of The Daily Star, Mintu Deshwara, also addressed the gathering. He said such higher education opportunities are extremely important for students from tea communities. He urged them to concentrate on their studies and prepare themselves to contribute to society and the country in the future.
Among others present at the programme were Pranesh Gowala, chairman of Kalighat Union, Bijoy Rudrapal, and Swapan Kumar Singh, Moulvibazar and Habiganj district correspondent of The Asian Age.
Speakers expressed hope that such initiatives would encourage more girls from tea communities to pursue higher education and eventually play a significant role in the development of society and the nation.
