Rail communication with Sylhet across the country was suspended for two hours after the engine of the Sylhet-bound Parabat Express that left Dhaka broke down. The incident occurred on the Khowai River bridge in Sayestaganj, Habiganj at around 12 noon today, Sunday. Sylhet-bound passengers suffered. Later, when the Paharika Express from Chittagong reached Shayestaganj, the broken Parabat was brought back with its engine. . Later, a mechanical engineer was brought in to get the broken engine running. Later, train traffic returned to normal around 2 pm. Sreemangal Railway Station Master Md. Sakhawat Hossain said that due to Parabat’s engine breaking down in Shayestaganj, the Parabat Express, which left Sylhet today, reached Sreemangal at 10:05 pm and left Srimangal for Dhaka at 10:15 pm.
