The railway police have arrested Hijra Puja Das on charges of indecent behavior with passengers on the Joyentika Express train in Shayestaganj, Habiganj. Later, she was fined Tk 1,000 in a mobile court.
The incident took place last Sunday (September 28) afternoon . It is learned that Puja Das, a resident of Sandip Upazila of Chittagong, behaved indecently with passengers on the train, and the passengers expressed their anger.
At that time, the Shayestaganj Railway Police arrested her and presented her in the mobile court.
The mobile court was conducted by Shayestaganj Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Arifur Rahman. PPM SI Md. Moniruzzaman of Shayestaganj Railway Police said, “Hijra Puja Das was arrested based on the passengers’ complaint. The court has fined her. We will continue such operations to ensure the safety of passengers.”
