The devotees of Hindu community celebrated the traditional Kumari Puja held Yesterday, Tuesday, September 30th at 11:00 am on Maha Ashtami at Sree Sree Sachi Angan Dham in Joypur under Bahubal Upazila of Habiganj district.
On Ashtami, six Kumaris have been installed in the seat of the Kumari Mother
as a symbol of motherhood purity for the Kumari Puja.
This year’s Kumari was Atula Chakraborty (classical name Kubjika). Her father Alok Chakraborty, Deputy Director Bangladesh Scouts Mymensingh Region and mother Major Alka Bhattacharya PSC are working in Mymensingh Cantonment. She was worshipped as a Kumari at the age of just 8 years.
The function was presided over by Former Deputy Director, Health Department Dr. Satyakam Chakraborty, President Sachi Angan Management Committee.Bahubali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Gias Uddin, Shri Kandarpa Bijay Banik Mihir,Shri Raju Dev,
freedom fighter Sheikh Mohammad Firoz Mia, political figure Mohammad Wahid Mia, Farooq Mia and other traditional community leaders attended the event.
Sree Paritosh Banik, General Secretary of the Temple Management Committee, took the decision for the Kumari Puja and provided overall support. Clothes were distributed along with the puja. All the devotees wished Sharad.The speakers extended their best wishes to all those participating in the puja and sought everyone’s cooperation to ensure that the event was completed peacefully.
Shri Randhir Chakraborty, President of the Sachi Angan Puja Committee, said that this year thousands of devotees gathered for the worship of this Kumari puja.
