A technical glitch has delayed the process of taking BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to London, as the special air ambulance sent by the Amir of Qatar failed to arrive in Dhaka at the scheduled time on Friday. As a result, her overseas travel has been pushed back by a day.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir informed the media in the morning that the air ambulance may arrive in Dhaka tomorrow, Saturday, if everything goes as planned.
Confirming the change in plan amid widespread political discussions since last night regarding Khaleda Zia’s London trip, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Due to a technical issue, the air ambulance is not arriving today.”
He further stated that the decision to board the flight will depend on Khaleda Zia’s physical condition and the advice of the medical board.
“If her condition is suitable and the medical board gives clearance, she may leave for London on Sunday, December 7 he added.
