Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-9) has recovered 11 air guns from an abandoned location in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar.
The recovery was made on Sunday night as part of a special drive against illegal arms, according to a press release issued on Monday morning. The information was confirmed by RAB-9 Additional Superintendent of Police and Media Officer KM Shahidul Islam Sohag.
Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-9 operational team conducted a raid around 6:55pm in the Lachna area under Satgaon Union of Sreemangal upazila. The air guns were found hidden inside bushes to the north of the Tea Girl Sculpture.

horough search of the area, the team recovered a total of 11 air guns from two plastic sacks left in the bushes. The firearms were seized in an abandoned condition.

RAB officials said no individual could be identified or detained in connection with the recovered air guns immediately. The matter is currently under Investigation .
Preliminary findings suggest that the recovered air guns could have been intended for use in subversive or criminal activities, the press release said.
For further legal action, the seized air guns have been handed over to Srimangal Police Station through a general diary. RAB-9 also said its intelligence surveillance and operational activities will continue to maintain law and order across the region.
