Two motorcyclists were killed after being run over by a bus on the Dhaka–Mawa Expressway in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj this evening.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-bound lane of the expressway on Friday, said the Fire Service.
The deceased were identified as Matiur Rahman, 50, and Sohel Rana, 50 — both residents of Keraniganj in Dhaka.
Dewan Azad Hossain, station officer of Srinagar Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the casualties, saying one of the victims died on the spot after being hit by the bus. The other was rushed to Srinagar Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Traffic movement on the expressway remains normal following the accident, he added.
Hajara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge ATM Mahmudul Haque said legal procedures over the accident are underway.
