Today, September 22, the number of brokers has increased day by day at the MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet. Regarding the issue, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Alam said that efforts are being made to control brokers here. No brokers will be allowed to enter Osmani. Legal action will be taken against brokers or their godfathers. He made these comments in response to questions from journalists after visiting the hospital. At that time, he also spoke to the hospital director and senior officials. He called on all those involved in service work to be more sincere about patients.
The DC said, ‘Three to four times more patients are admitted than the capacity. But the hospital has only 500 beds in comparison to the manpower. As a result, patients are suffering in various ways in medical services. Although Osmani is a 900-bed hospital, an average of more than 2,500 patients are admitted here every day.  Even today, there are about 2,700 patients. Each patient has three to four relatives. With such a large number of people, services are naturally disrupted. Regarding cleanliness, the Deputy Commissioner said, “There is a problem with cleanliness here. I came one night and saw an unhygienic environment. From now on, I will come suddenly once a week or at least once in 15 days to see the situation so that the real picture can be understood.”
