A disaster awareness drill focusing on fire and earthquake safety was held at the Bahubal Upazila Health Complex in Habiganj. The session, organized by the health complex, ran from morning to afternoon and included staff, local residents, and members of the Bahubal Fire Service.
The event was presided over by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Abdullahel Maruf Faruki. The fire safety segment of the drill was conducted by Enamul Hossain Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (acting) of Bahubal Fire Service, along with his team. Participants learned rapid rescue techniques, first aid, and safe evacuation procedures during earthquakes and fires.
Speakers at the discussion emphasized that staying calm and acting responsibly during disasters can prevent major losses. Regular drills and training sessions are vital to enhance public disaster preparedness. At the end of the program, participants were given information leaflets on disaster readiness and safety.
