To more effectively convey the teachings of Buddhism for intellectual thought and human values, morality and social welfare to the common people, the Executive Committee 2026-27 of the ‘Dhammakatha for Human Welfare’ organization was formed.
At a meeting held on Tuesday, January 12 at the temporary office of the organization in Nasirabad, Chittagong city, the organization’s chief patron, Lion Ujjal Kanti Barua, approved the 81-member committee. At the meeting, the newly elected committee leaders said that Dhamma Katha for human welfare is not just a religious discipline; it is a practice of humanity, compassion, non-violence and justice. The role of Dhamma Katha is very important in preventing moral degradation in society, motivating the youth in a positive way and strengthening family and social harmony. They also said that the main goal of this initiative is to stand by the underprivileged people, spread moral education and strengthen inter-religious harmony by expanding Dhamma Katha activities in different regions of the country.
