The ongoing military confrontation involving the United States, Israel and Iran is intensifying across the Middle East, with reports of casualties emerging from several countries in the region. Iran has suffered the highest number of deaths so far, according to reports from multiple international media outlets.
Data published by international broadcaster Al Jazeera and other sources indicate that at least 1,230 people have been killed in Iran since the escalation began. One of the deadliest incidents occurred in the southern city of Minab, where a missile strike hit a school, killing 175 students and staff members, according to international reports.
In Israel, at least 11 people have been reported killed in Iranian missile attacks. Nine of them died in a strike in the city of Beit Shemesh on March 1, international media reported.
The conflict has also affected United States forces stationed in the region. According to defence sources cited in international reports, six US service members have been killed in attacks on American military installations across the Middle East.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, Israeli strikes since Monday have left at least 77 people dead, according to local and international media reports.
The violence has also spread to parts of the Gulf region. In Bahrain, one person was killed after a fire broke out in the Salman Industrial City area following the interception of a missile.
In Kuwait, four people were killed in an Iranian attack, including two Kuwaiti soldiers, security sources said.
Elsewhere, a missile strike hit a cargo tanker flying the flag of the Marshall Islands near the coast of Oman, leaving one crew member dead. At the same time, conflict-related incidents in the United Arab Emirates have reportedly resulted in three deaths, according to international media.
Analysts warn that the direct confrontation between Iran and Israel is increasingly destabilising the wider Middle East. Observers say the conflict could expand further across the region if tensions continue to escalate.
