The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has secured a clean sweep in all eight parliamentary constituencies across the districts of Moulvibazar and Habiganj in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election. According to unofficial results released by the respective Returning Officers, BNP candidates contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol won by decisive margins in every seat.
Moulvibazar: Four out of Four for BNP
In Moulvibazar-1 (BarlekhaâJuri), BNP candidate Nasir Uddin Ahmed Mithu emerged victorious with 97,534 votes, defeating his nearest rival Maulana Mohammad Aminul Islam of the 11-party alliance, who received 79,619 votes. The constituency has a total of 337,816 voters.
Moulvibazar-2 (Kulaura) saw Alhaj Shawkatul Islam Shaku of the BNP win with 74,636 votes, including postal ballots. Jamaat-e-Islami nominee Engineer Sahed Ali finished second with 53,097 votes, leaving a margin of 21,539.
In Moulvibazar-3 (SadarâRajnagar), BNP Executive Committee member M Naser Rahman registered a landslide victory, polling 156,757 votes. His closest competitor, Abdul Mannan of the Scales symbol, secured 77,636 votesâresulting in a margin of 79,121.
The largest margin in the district was recorded in Moulvibazar-4 (SreemangalâKamalganj), where BNP candidate Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury (Haji Mujib) won with 170,877 votes, including postal ballots. His nearest rival, Maulana Nur-e-Alam Hamidi backed by Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, received 50,204 votesâa commanding margin of 120,673, the highest in the Sylhet division.
Habiganj: BNP Dominance Continues
In Habiganj-1 (NabiganjâBahubal), BNP candidate Dr Reza Kibria won with 111,999 votes, defeating Maulana Sirajul Islam of the 11-party alliance, who polled 55,245 votes. The voter turnout stood at 46.8 percent.
Habiganj-2 (BaniachongâAjmiriganj) was claimed by BNPâs Dr Abu Mansur Sakhawat Hasan, who secured 126,583 votes. His nearest rival, Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana Abdul Basit Azad (Wall Clock symbol), received 65,762 votes. Turnout was 48.6 percent.
In Habiganj-3, BNP candidate G K Gaus won with 142,348 votes, while Jamaat nominee Kazi Mohsin Ahmed came second with 45,568 votes. The turnout stood at 51.12 percent.
Finally, Habiganj-4 (MadhabpurâChunarughat) delivered a strong mandate for BNPâs Syed Mohammad Faisal, who polled 188,072 votes. His nearest rival, Md Gias Uddin Taheri of Bangladesh Islami Front, garnered 84,323 votes. Voter turnout reached 56.10 percent.

The results underline overwhelming voter support for the BNP across both districts. Following the announcements, jubilant scenes were reported in several areas as supporters celebrated the partyâs sweeping victory.
